Our work in Pakistan
We’re supporting the delivery of essential deworming treatments across Pakistan through our Deworm the World program.
Pakistan is one of the top ten high burden countries for soil-transmitted helminths, a parasitic worm infection. In 2016, we supported the government in its first nationwide prevalence survey, which found that an estimated 17 million school-age children in 45 at-risk districts needed deworming every year.
Partnering with Interactive Research and Development (IRD) Pakistan, we’re supporting the government in delivering mass deworming programs in seven territories and provinces (Islamabad Capital Territory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab, Azad, Jammu & Kashmir, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan).

Our Partners
Through our technical partner, IRD Pakistan, Evidence Action supports the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives; Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training; and the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination at the federal level. We also partner with provincial planning and development, education, and health departments.
